£4k raised for The WISH Centre!

It is with immense gratitude to report that at a Halloween Fundraiser at the Trinity Bar in Harrow on Saturday October 31st 2009 over £4k was raised for The WISH centre.
The night, organised by singer-songwriter Kate Nash and Promoter Pearse Grady was a fantastic all day event with fancy dress, a cake sake, auction, and fantastic musical performances and DJ sets from artists including Kate Nash, Edwyn Collins, Billy Bragg, The Cribs and Rogues.
We would like to say a great big thank you to Kate, Pearse, The Trinity, all the performers and everyone in attendance for being part of such a great day, and for helping raise such a fantastic amount towards our work supporting women and young people.

We launched our new Women's Community Development Programme, funded by Awards for All, at a celebration of International Women's Day on Thursday 5 March 2009. The programme provided a series of workshops for women such as visual arts, spoken word, issues based campaigning and is aimed at BME women, women who have experienced violence or mental health issues and young women.
The Wish Centre and Comic Relief 2009
WISH were invited by Comic Relief to launch Red Nose Day 2009 in Jan. Rowena the Centre Director spoke about our work alongside Duncan Bannatyne of Dragons Den fame, Richard Curtis, Kevin Cahill the Chief Executive of Comic Relief and Emma Freud.

WISH were featured in May as part of Capital Radio's Help a London Child Appeal for BASH our boys self harm group. Mentions were on Capital, Capital Gold, Choice FM and XFM and other stations!
TV : a short film about WISH was featured on BBC1 Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing on 14 March as part of Comic Relief Sports Relief following a visit from Olympic athlete Jade Johnson and interview with young self harmer, Steph.
NEET
NEET - in April 2008 WISH worked with a group of young people 16-18 years who are NEET - not in education, training or employment - to make short DVD about their experiences and the services they can access.
